Hermetic Condensing Units
Factory Fitted Options - Specification :
HP/LP Switch :
All condensing units in the RCS hermetic range are fitted as
standard with an auto/auto switch pre-wired to the connection
box of the condensing unit.
HP Fan Switch :
This option is only available for twin fan units and will be pre- glass piped to the liquid receiver outlet and terminated at the
wired to the condensing unit electrical box.
Fan Speed Controller :
Due to the fan motor design this option is not available for the
RCS50 and 75 models. This option can be applied to all other
models in the range to optimize the head pressure and
reduce the unit noise level during periods of low ambient or
low load requirements. When applied this option will be pre-
wired and piped to the condensing unit.
Mains Isolator :
This option is applicable to the entire range and comprises a
6 pole isolator which will isolate the incoming power supply
and the control circuit thereby making the unit safe to work
on.
Mains Isolator, Contactor and overload:
This option involves to application of a compressor contactor
and suitably sized overload together with a unit isolator.
Crankcase Heater :
All units are fitted as standard with this option except the
RCS50 & 75-HTZ and the RCS75 & 150-LTZ models The
heaters for these units are an optional extra.
Oil Separator :
This option can be applied to all units in the range and comes
complete with a suitably sized oil separator with a manual
shut-off valve in the oil return line.
An optional oil return solenoid valve and an oil return line
sight glass can be fitted on request. All these components will
be mounted within the condensing unit footprint and piped
into the system. Also included is the additional oil charge
required due to the increased internal system volume.

Oil Separator Heater :
If a condensing unit with a fitted oil separator will be subject
to low ambient conditions an oil separator heater should be
fitted to avoid refrigerant condensation during compressor off
cycle periods.
Liquid line stub fitted with Drier and Sight Glass :
This option includes a suitably sized liquid line drier and sight
extremity of the condensing unit base plate, sealed with a
brazed copper end cap. All necessary supporting brackets
and fixing are included.
Suction Line Stub :
This option includes a suitably sized suction line connected
to the compressor inlet and terminated at the extremity of the
condensing unit base plate, sealed with a brazed copper end
cap. This line includes a stainless steel vibration eliminator
on all sizes, together with all the necessary brackets and
supports. These stubs will be insulated with class 'O' 1/2"
wall nitrile rubber pipe insulation.
Metal Housing :
This range of metal housings can be applied to all units in
the range no matter what other options are fitted. This allows
the condensing unit to be sited safely outside subject to the
elements. Care should be taken to allow for sufficient air
circulation space when units are sighted close to buildings.
HP/LP Gauges :
This option includes a 63mm diameter suction and discharge
gauge permanently fitted to the unit. Gauges are marked
with saturation temperatures for R404A, R134a and R22.
